Socialist Party of India , 1959 and 1972 ; Died . Obit. on 21-7-1975.

First M.P.(Mr. Kirai Mushar)

Shri Kirai Mushar, was the First Member of Parliament of Madhepura.[Bihar—Bhagalpur cum Purnea (Reserved—Scheduled Castes)—1952]: He was contested on socialist party ticket and deafeted congress .Cultivator; Has been agitating against Landlords and Mahajans and working for the reformation of his community; President, Zilla Welfare Mushar Association.

NEW RISE OF POLITICS IN KOSI BELT

In 2009 Loksabha Election , Kosi belt saw a new rise in politics. Laloo yadav lost all seats in yadav heartland. Laloo & his clan failed to woo yadav & OBC community despite aggressive campaign. Vice versa with Ramvilas Paswan who failed to Dalit votes.
During flood ,every one has big exception from Laloo & Ramvilas but they failed to fulfill. But Laloo in his own old style to win media (with Deepak Chaurasia on STAR TV distributing money). One thing he did, criticising Nitish Kumar but didn't do single favour to the people.
Thanks to kosi people ,they voted above the caste & religion.
